Composers
Rafał Kulczycki
Pianist, arranger, composer of film music. We are sure you've already heard his music in the soundtracks of romantic comedies, dramas and documentaries, and even in popular commercials. To this day Kulczycki has been responsible for many soundtracks, but now he has decided to release his solo material and compose a soundtrack to his own life. In 2020, in cooperation with the MTJ label, the composer's debut album was released: Kulczycki (Non) Calm Stories. These are beautiful piano illustrations full of peace and anxiety at the same time, a range of emotions and true virtuosity.
Dionizy Piątkowski (Jazz.pl) wrote about the album: It is the pianist's solo debut, including interesting and suggestive interpretations, a "piano song book" - from Fryderyk Chopin's "Mazurka in A-Minor" to "Hotel California" by The Eagles. But there are also - maintained in a similar style, color and mood - original compositions. Kulczycki is a pianist who is not afraid of experimenting with his work, he is an excellent arranger, and his musical interests reach very far.
Kulczycki is a graduate of the Instrumental Department in the piano class of the Academy of Music in Gdańsk, the Department of Sound Engineering of the Academy of Music in Warsaw and Orchestration at the Berklee College of Music. He creates music for films, commercials and TV stations.
He composed, among others music for feature films such as "Banksterzy", "Dzień dobry, kocham cię", "Porady na zdrady", or "Pech to nie grzech", as well as documentaries "Miłość, Europa, Świat Zygmunta Baumana "Czasami śnię, że latam” and others.
